I do not want thanks for any research I am able to help out with. I just love doing it.
I was chatting to a gentleman on Saturday who, when I said I lived in King's Lynn, started reminiscing about places he used to visit here around about 1940. He mentioned the Pilot Cinema and also a pub he thinks was the Fishermans Arms, anybody know if the buildings still exist, I shall see him again next Monday and it would be good to give him an update.
He also said he remembers a photographer being on the High Street so shall take him a copy of the photo of a man on a horse I posted on November 9th along with details of photographer, never know he may have some information for me. If so I'll post it on here.
Fisherman's Arms building is still there Mouse it is now the Chinese Restaurant next to the old pilot cinema. The old Fisherman's Arms was in Pilot St. The last landlord in the old pub and the first in the new was Walter Setchell. There is a thread on here about it.

I have had a lot of great memories there, we always went to the little sweet shop across the street and got a pennys worth of icecream wafers to eat there, I loved the Dean Martin Jerry Lewis movies Thanks again for the memories, You guys are the best, And I want to Thank EWW for all his work,
I lived in Pilot Street for the first 15 years of my life and have many happy memories of the Pilot Cinema. Fred Calvert put on some great shows there and I was even in one myself aged about 8. The cinema is a one off, so art deco how popular would it be today, a real show piece in its day. Thanks so much for the photos is it possible to buy them for my book I have made of growing up in Kings Lynn.
