I have heard that there is a tunnel which runs from the exorcists house via the church and into St Anne's House. It is said that Matthew Hopkins the Wichmaster General would use this route and take women up to the house and take advantage of them before trying them as witches. Anyone else know of this?

There are hundreds of tunnels all over the country according to folklore. There is the fiddler at Binham and that story is told all over the country using different places.

If all of these tunnels did exist, why do we find so few of them?

Anyone like to contribute to a list of "secret" tunnels in Norfolk?

I am very interested in local history of mid-Norfolk and I have lots of connections to families in the Lynn area. http://www.norfolk-tours.co.uk/
