Two images relating to RW Fayers the builders whose old workshop featured in this article. One is of the site following the demolition of the above work shop and the second shows the site of the new workshop on the far side of the Purfleet. You can just make out the RW Fayers Builders sign on the left edge of the picture.

I remember my mum lived in a flat above the builders when it was the Womens Conservative Club she was the caretaker there from about 1966 to 1968.
used to be able to get out of the skylight on the roof and walk very carefully around the top of the building.

The grey boat there was I was told, was used at Dunkirk evacuation, and the smaller one I used to help the old man who owned it and go out fishing with him. Oh happy days !!

Sorry but that is a bit of a King's Lynn myth that Sue. I have a list of
every little ship that went to Dunkirk, sadly the Dania was not one of them :(
I do not want thanks for any research I am able to help out with. I just love doing it.

Just to add to that, the small grey boat in the creek was made for the film
Revolution also, again worked on by one of our members on here

There is a thread on here for the film Revolution, well worth a look.
Delbert, myself and others on here, to many to mention, were extras on it also :D

The Will Everard that used to tie up in the Purfleet had an identical sister-ship
called the Ethel Everard that ended up being shot up on the Dunkirk beach.

There are pictures of both those old sailing ships on here.
