Wow, thanks so much for the pics, I had intended to print them off to give to my new friend when I saw him today but the printer needs new ink and I'm not good at that so have to wait for OH to sort it.
Funny reading on here how Ben Culey provided the Pilot cos that is exactly what I was told this afternoon as well. Was also told how popular it was because of having double seats for courting couples.
The man I was talking to lived at Wolferton in those days and was able to get return bus, fish & chips, go to the cinema and have a half pint of beer all for less than half a crown.
Sadly he couldn't help me with my quest to find out more about Boughton & Son photographers or my picture of a man on a horse, although he does remember using a chap called Derek Neal based in the High Street.
Also said he enjoyed dancing and went to the dance hall in the Majestic whenever he could.
Only spent about an hour with him this afternoon but he really is a fascinating man and it turned out to be his 87th birthday today. One of the things I love about my job is that I meet some really interesting people.
