Mr Turner looks just as I remember him from the late 60s/early 70s, but he wasn't head then - it was Mr Culverwell. Mr Turner taught us music. I remember Miss Stacey too and I recall her as being really huge, but maybe I was just very small.

littleoldboy I wrote to Miss Brown up until the time of her death. She lived down Extons Road with her two sisters,I was very fond of her. She had very bad arthritis in her hands, can anyone remember? Don't know if she'd survive the school system these days! Does anyone have photos of the school between 65 and 71 when I left to go to Catleughs? Anyone there at that time? The teachers were Mrs Raven,Mrs Perry,Miss Stacey,Mrs Hart,Mrs Featheridge and at the junior,Mrs Wadsley,Mr Culverwell,Mr Perry,Mrs Joplin and a couple others I can't remember.

In 1953 the David Chase I know was in the same class as me at St James Boys School, is there more than one David Chase of that age ? should be 65/66 now.

The David Chase in spacemans picture used to live in either Bishops or De Grey rd,
whichever the first one off Bagge rd is. (I think) :D

One thing I can tell you about Ms. Oliver was she used to smack the back of my hand with a ruler for not listening. When I got out of school I would continue smacking it to make it look red so when I got home I could tell my parents what she done, but it didn't work because my parents said, "I probably deserved it! " Funny how that's stuck in my mind after all these years.

Ms Oliver was my wife's only aunt, she would have been delighted to think that she is still remembered by some of her old pupils, even if it was only for dishing out mild corporal punishment.
Sadly she past away many years ago, 1975 I think.
