At last, I have found an excellent venue, just waiting for confirmation of date. Should be September/October time.

Watch this space.

Anyone else who is interested in providing a family tree or taking a table on the day, please contact me too, I have not finalised the date yet, but I would like to get other interested parties on board as soon as possible.

I will be contacting True's Yard and the Museums too, but anyone who has any other bodies that could be interested, please let me know by PM. Is there still an active Local History Society in the town? This will not be a commercial "do" so no trade stands etc. I am looking into having some things available for sale but these will not be sold for a profit-making enterprise.

A date for your diary.

WHEN?
Saturday 18th September.

WHAT TIMES?
2 till 4.30.

WHERE?
St Nicholas' Chapel.

WANT TO HAVE A TABLE?
(People taking a table will be asked for a donation. This will not be a commercial family history fair, it will be an opportunity to get together with people interested in families from Lynn. There will be some things for sale, but this is not the main object of the afternoon. Any people selling things must donate a proportion of the proceeds towards covering the cost of the day.)

CONTACT?
Pm me with your name and email address.

I will be contacting True's Yard as they could be busy with coffee and extra visitors.

Families already represented include:
Benefer & Bailey

I look forward to LOTS of interest from our forumers.

Teddy

No-body interested?

It will be a bit boring if it is just me and a couple of relations.

Hi

That is a real shame as I was hoping to get a lot on the Benefers together. Perhaps you can let me have your family details so I can add you to the family tree though?

I will PM you my email address.

I am also hoping that this will be the first of many such get-togethers and, if it works it could become a regular event.

Looking forward to the day.

Teddy

Hoping to come and also to get my Mum to come too. She is a North End girl, Birchwood Street, and a Gant. We also have a link to the Benefer family but have not got my tree done yet.

Will spread the word to other members of the family who are not on this forum and see if they would come too.

Great.

Bring any photographs along too, as well as your tree etc. I will try to get a scanner so they can be saved for posterity. I am always saddened when I see family albums for sale on Ebay and the like, with no names or idea who they are. All those people, someone's family, lost for ever.

Street scenes are also very important, as we see on here, Lynn has changed so much and there is so much of the town that we haven't got photographs of. They could well be out there amongst your family paperwork. I look forward to seeing you all.

Great to see that there will be at least half a dozen of us! lol!

I will be writing to the Lynn News this week and to the EDP as well, but it is going to be very different to the usual family history/local history fair. This one will rely on you, the visitors, to provide the exhibits and the chat. I am simply providing the venue and a few bits & pieces to start us off.

If only six of us turn up, I know we will have a great time anyway!

Hi Teddy

I'm not connected with any of the Lynn families personally but will be there with the Friends of Hardwick Road Cemetery stand and burial database so I can point people in the direction of the relevant graves. What time can we get in to set up?

Colin H

Hi Colin

I am hoping that I will be able to get in around 12, but I will confirm nearer the time.

Glad to hear that you will be there!
