According to White's Directory 1845 this union workhouse
was orignally the House of Industry which was built in 1805.
The Union of St. Faith's comprises the parishes of:
Catton, Crostwick, Drayton, Felthorpe, Hainford, Horsham
and Newton Saitn Faith, Horsford, Horstead with
Stanninghall, Rackheath, Salhouse, Spixworth, Sprowston,
and Taverham, from the Taverham Hundred. Also Saint
Mary's in the Marsh, Norwich, Honingham in the Forehoe
Hundred, Booton in South Erpingham, and the nine parishes
from Eynsford hundred Brandiston,
Haveringland, Morton on
the Hill, Ringland, Swannington, Weston, and Little & Great
Witchingham.
