Henstead Union consists of all the parishes of Humbleyard
Hundred and those of Henstead Hundred except for Yelverton.
It covers the parishes of Bracon Ash, E. Carlton, Colney,
Cringleford, Dunston, Flordon, Hethel, Hethersett, Intwood,
Keswick, Ketteringham, Mattishall, Great & Little Melton,
Mulbarton, Newton Flotman,
Swainsthorpe, Swardeston,
Wreningham, Arminghall,
Bixley, Bramerton, Caistor St. Edmund,
Framingham Earl & Pigot, Holverstone, Kirby Bedon,
Rockland St. Mary, Saxlingham Nethergate, Saxlingham Thorpe,
Shotesham All Saints, Shotesham St. Mary & St. Martin,
Stoke Holy Cross, Surlingham, Trowse Newton and
Whitlingham.
The parish of Yelverton is included in the
Loddon Clavering Union.
It is noted that Great & Little Poringland are united for the
support of the poor.
Although Lt. & Gt. Porlingland were stated as combining for
support of the poor a
separate workhouse was not found in these
parishes for the 1841 census.
