PRO Ref: HO/107/782/6 Folios 43 & 44 White's Directory 1845: Docking Union comprises the 18 parishes of Smithdon Hundred : Barwick-in-the-Brakes, Gt. Bircham, Newton Bircham, Bircham Tofts, Brancaster, Docking, Fring, Heacham, Holme next the Sea, Hunstanton, Gt. Ringstead, Sedgeford, Shernbourne, Snettisham, Stanhoe, Thornham, Titchwell and the parishes of Anmer & Dersingham in Freebrige Lynn. Plus Bagthorpe, Bamer, Broomsthorpe, Houghton, Syderstone and East & West Rudham from the Gallow Hundred. The Union house was opened in Dec 1836, can house 513 persons but seldom has more than 100 in summer. All persons were born in Norfolk apart from those marked otherwise
