PRO Ref. HO 107/761/13 Pages 1 - 4 According to White's Directory of 1845, 35 parishes from South Erpingham and 11 from Eynesford Hundred comprised this Poor Law Union. Buxton house of Industry built prior to 1800 had room for 400 paupers, the other at Oulton could care for 100, but was mainly used for the aged and infirm. Both Houses were extensively enlarged and repaired prior to amalgamation. The incorporated parishes in 1836 were: Alby, Aylsham, Banningham, Lt. Barningham, Belaugh, Blickling, Brampton, Burgh St. Mary, Buxton, Calthorpe, Cawston, Colby, Coltishall, Corpusty, Erpingham, Gt. Hautbois, Hevingham, Heydon, Ingworth, Irmingland, Itteringham, Lammas with Lt. Hautbois, Mannington, Outon, Saxthorpe, Scottow, Skeyton, Stratton Strawless, Swanton Abbot, Thwaite, Tuttington, Wickmere & Wolterton. Also the parishes of: Foulsham, Guestwick, Hackford by Reepham, Hindolveston, Reepham with Kerdiston, Sall, Themelthorpe, Thurning, Whitwell, Wood Dalling and Wood Norton from the Eynesford Hundred.
