CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS in Norwich |

Norwich was renowned for its Charities, many having been established in the late 1600’s and added to over the years by further benefactors. 26 trustees had been appointed by 1836 to manage the Charities. The Church Charities had the management of the The Great Hospital, Cooke’s Hospital and the Free Grammar School. The General charities included the Doughty’s Hospital, and the Boys' and Girls' Hospital Schools.
