Articles and Anecdotes
As we all know our present day is the History of Tomorrow. Each and everyone of us has something to give. These articles are so important to the next generation, be they genealogists, historians, or just folks taking an interest in the past. I encourage everyone to get some small detail on paper etc reference your own family or your village etc. It would be so helpful for our children and grandchildren to see how folks lived and more importantly what characters were living in the village at the time, and how they conducted their days. Little details about trades etc may well have more significance than one thinks as the older trades and ways of life, disappear in this new age.. And in Norfolk the old nicknames are so fascinating but just a few years ago were so important to differentiate between John Junr, & John Senr in a family. At nearly seventy I still refer to my friends in Norfolk by their nicknames I used as a young girl, but get strange glances now, as folks no longer apply them so much. I would like to know what my ancestors nicknames were, or how they conducted their days. Think about folks, it only takes a few words.
